A few days ago I sowed some dianthus plumarius (cottage garden pinks) Sonata on the kitchen windowsill. I was expecting to wait some time for germination but they've started to pop today.

Sowed Sweetcorn "Goldcrest". Can't remember the last time I tried to grow sweetcorn but I have a few hundred seeds, so, let's give it a go!

It doesn't say on my packet how old the seeds are, but I've had much better germination from the Goldcrest than the Swift from DT Brown and Premier Seeds.

Spot on, TMTT! with 250 seeds in the packet, unlike some of the other companies.

I have a sunflower and pumpkin seed mix that I sprinkle on my porridge, so on Monday JFF I put some sunflowers on damp kitchen roll to see if they would germinate, not really expecting them to. Today they nearly all had a half inch root on them! So I've potted them up, of course, though where in my garden I shall squeeze in 24 sunflowers I don't know.

Today I've sown Bijou mangetout, Buckles Black (red pod) Runner beans, Courgettes including some round ones, Delicata/Candlestick winter squash, Mr Fearns Purple-flowered CFB (old), Madeira Maroon CFB (very old), Meraviglia di Venezia CFB (not so old), and some random mixed beans.
All sown in modules in GH3.
