Don't you love the way that ready meals are described by the supermarkets. Can you guess what I'll be eating tonight from the following description (minus a few key words Wink)? The number of ........ has no relevance to the actual words!

"Our  chef's gently steam ................ ............ until tender and drape them in a silky ........ .......... ............. ............ infused with earthy ............ ............ Garnished with a  scattering of ........... ............. for the finishing touch."

If you're eating it, I expect there's no meat/poultry. Initially I thought perhaps it was dog food.

"Our  chef's gently steam pasta shapes until tender and drape them in a silky cheese sauce infused with earthy truffle oil. Garnished with a  scattering of breadcrumbs for the finishing touch."

Basically mac 'n cheese.

It was Tesco's Finest Truffle Cauliflower Gratin £6. Serves 4.
Our chefs gently steam cauliflower florets until tender and drape them in a silky extra mature Cheddar cheese sauce infused with earthy black truffle, Garnished with a scattering of parsley breadcrumbs for the finishing touch.

In other words, cauliflower cheese. As for serving 4, I've just eaten the lot but think I'm going to wish I hadn't !

It just screams look at how pretentious we are. The food very rarely lives up to the hype.

Needless to say, I didn't buy it, it was in the free box this morning.
The truffle part is "truffle flavoured oil" the ingredients of which are Olive oil and flavouring!

If it's cauliflower you have to add summat to it otherwise it's a tasteless mush! Rolleyes Now if it was a ribeye a bit of salt would suffice! Tongue Big Grin
