Piglet ap Peg has been weighed with the luggage scales, he is only a baby at 7.7kg, 16.9 lbs. Roll on next year. He's not as perfectly spherical as River. A pic to follow if I remember.

My book on growing giant pumpkins has arrived . At a quick glance I’ve learned some stuff already.
Very excited about next year’s competition . At the grand total of £3.74 (£2.75 delivery). It’s very good. Even more pleased I didn’t buy the first copy I saw at £75 !!! That’s very nearly £1 a page . Especially as all the photos are black & white and there’s not many of them. I like photos .
Anyone started eating their pumpkin yet? I keep putting it off

I went to harvest my only pumpkin (not in the competition) and on lifting it the bottom half had basically been eaten away with slugs and snails!

You wouldn't have eaten it anyway as its not animal - although maybe the slugs and snails would be OK.

My Grandson entered a pumpkin carving competition (not with my half eaten jobbie) and carved an 'engine management light' into the pumpkin, which can be a horrifying sight!
