I'm here shaking my head in wonderment.  I'm not sure whether to have a great deal of respect or ring someone to have you committed. but you do give me  masses of entertainment and I'm so glad you're there

Wonder if this will be the final version of RSFLF or will there be more?? I think that concentrating seed sowing on one day will work better as most of it will be done in the GH at this time of year so I'll have no excuses about wet weather. If I'm really enthusiastic I could prepare all the modules and seed trays the day before - and the labels on Sunday. Seed sorting Sunday.

Just in case you think I've forgotten this plan, I'm currently selecting seeds for sowing tomorrow (Week 2). They'll be beetroot, radish, leeks, Broad Beans, Kale and Cabbage.

Guess what? I have another cunning version of RSFLF. Its a slimmed down, speeded up version.

I've said elsewhere, I think, that I'm going to concentrate on the "easy" veg which are also my favourite veg. Out go the turnips & swedes, brassicas that are in the ground for most of the year and some of the weird and wacky experimental veg (although I may weaken on this )
I'm going to resow each group of seeds every 3 weeks (not 4).......and I'll aim to sow the week's seeds on a Monday.
Roots and Shoots will merge into one group
Fruits will be the second group
Leaves and herbs will be the third group.
Flowers can be sown anytime.

Week 2 (Fruits) Tomatoes, cucumber, courgettes & squash, peas and beans
Week 3 Lettuce, Oriental leaves, Kale, Rocket, Chard & spinach. Cress and sprouting seeds. Herbs.
Week 4 - is a repeat of Week 1 and so forth.
I'll sow a small quantity of each seed. Three weeks later they should have germinated and I'll sow some more.

You’ve already weakened, you’ve got samphire on the way   

It all makes perfect sense     . May I ask why you’re changing from a 4 week cycle to a 3 week? Just interested 

I reckon 3 weeks is long enough to see whether germination is OK. If not, I can resow again and not lose as much time as on a 4 week cycle. A 2 week cycle might be too soon.
Also, I've read somewhere about sowing a small quantity of seeds every 3 weeks for succession sowing. Not sure where though!

A lot of that we all do subconsciously without the timescale, i.e. sow, check for germination, sow again if failed. I definitely agree with growing what you like, why anyone grows radish, turnips or kohl rabi is beyond me but to each his own.
I'm not sure about sowing cucs, beans or toms here later on in the season though, it would be a thankless task as they'd never mature. Although it might work in sunshiny south Wales. It wouldn't work for me as I get too excited in spring witn new seeds of toms, beans, etc. and sow anything I can find, I just can't resist. Best of luck Veggie, should we run a book on how long this scheme lasts?

You've got the same disease as me, you just can't resist a novel seed. I'm looking at    https://veggieplot.uk/tomato-seeds-for-2024/ for tomato ideas already and considering tomatoes for next year, with a stern talking to myself that I don't need to grow 38 plants!

I'm not tempted by tomatoes in that way. I've whittled mine down to a few favourites (Rambling Red Stripe, Mountain Princess, Oregon Spring and Gardener's Delight) with a couple of others that I don't often grow. Same with peas - as long as I can grow Bijou I'm happy. So I'm going to grow more of my reliable favourites and less variety.
