The first Rhienhard's Purple Sugar cherry tomato and the first Dior DFB. Rhienhard's was very nice with a full flavour you'd expect from a purplish tomato. Haven't tasted Dior yet.

		First melon.
I could see there were a few developing but the smell of nectarine in the tunnel masked any melon smell and I came across one that looked ripe that I hadn't noticed - at 2.3kg which is just about 5lb. Not sure I wanted it just yet as have lots of plums and nectarines. I've not checked the raspberries for a bit but, as they are Joan J and Autumn Bliss I should be able to ignore them for a few weeks.

Picked the first Honeydew sweetcorn and the first 2 outdoor Mat-Su Express tomato. Unfortunately the Mat-Su had split with all the rain.

Sugar Baby watermelon! A fun novelty, I grew it up some string and hand pollinated whenever I spotted a female flower. |
