Thanks Scarlet. Very interesting. I’m hoping to save seeds from this little fella. As you don’t get many seeds in a packet. No idea how or when, but I’ll try.

Did you read up where the seeds are formed? Actually on the outside of the comb, under the curly bits - very interesting. They go black ( the celosia I grew had tiny black seed) and you can just brush them off.

I have messaged chiltern seeds. Asking them to change their growing information. So nobody else is disappointed. After spending 35p per tiny seed and all the effort in growing them. To be left with very healthy stunted headless thing that won’t grow or die! Is very disheartening, sad and annoying.
Will let you know if I hear back from them.

Will let you know if I hear back from them. Chiltern are often my go to for planting time info... but I have noticed they have similar misleading information on other varieties especially if they have annual and perennial varieties that come under the same group.

I’ve had a reply from chiltern seeds.
A very nice email. They’re going to change the growing information. And they offered me a replacement packet of seed. An alternative variety as they’ve sold out of the Bombay cockscomb varieties. which they apologised for.

Just as you would expect from Chiltern Seeds. Shame they're out of stock of the Bombay seeds.

I had a couple packs of seeds that never sprouted last year, I complained and theyy replaced straight away. So not surprised they have responded and also will change the website. Definitely good eggs.
What are they sending instead?

I had a quick look on their website but I really couldn’t decide. So I’m letting them choose .
