Something Nasty in the Woodshed? (Warning! - post contains a photo of a snake)

Well, no - think it is an aesculapian snake, squeezed up into the top of the garden/wood shed - the roof and walls are black so get lovely and warm, perfect for reptiles in the morning. 
It got bored of being admired yesterday and uncurled and disappeared behind the wood in the other shed that backs onto this one so we see it was about a metre in length, so a bit of growing to do yet. 
Snakes are always welcome in my garden especially the ones like this who eat voles!!

Even though I'm not too bothered I think it would freak me out if it was above my head!

I’m with you there scarlet. I’m fine with snakes unless they sneak up on me.

I confess that I am walking the long way round on the path, but inside the snake is above a wheel barrow so I've decided to use the other one!!
An update - I think it is about to shed its skin because the skin over the eye is blue and opaque.

Don't like snakes, don't like eels.

I wouldn't hurt one though unless it was trying to eat me.

You're ok Vinny, we don't have man-eating eels in this part of the mountains!!

Yeah that’s a sure sign they’re about to shed. That’s normal when they’re at there most bad tempered. I’ve discovered from experience   .

What snakes do you have on Mull SC? I imagine adders and grass snakes? Supposedly no snakes in Ireland though?

Thankfully the snake died just before he went to Uni.
