Spud and Ted and their Mum, Bess

She’s such a cutie   .

Does she start prodding you if you take to long throwing the stick? Or does she have more patience than my skew   

Bess drops it at your feet or in whatever you're working with - like a flowerpot, bucket or on a plant. Sometimes, she'll put it up on a seat, so that I don't have to bend for it! She whimpers pathetically if you ignore her, this turns into an annoyed yip after a while.
Bess is very good at finding whatever has been thrown, even tiny bits of stick 3" long - and she won't stop running around until she's found it. I deliberately pretend to throw things in one direction but actually throw it the other way. Bess will start running in the direction she thinks I'm aiming for before its thrown. Ted is the opposite, he'll wait until the stick has been thrown and watch to see where it lands before running.
Spud is just hopeless at being a dog.

       

Spud and I went to see the Hollow Tree today. Its been hollow for at least 40 years that I know of but, sadly, it blew down in one of this year's gales. Another beech tree has bitten the dust. 

Did Bess and Ted not get the invitation?

They'll go another day! I've not been walking in the woods in the last few years as there seem to be a number of professional dog walkers who go there with packs of dogs. They can be a bit intimidating to my 3 (and me) so I prefer to walk mine individually so that I always know where they are.

Its annual checkup & vaccination time for the dogs. Ted went a couple of weeks ago, Spud today and Bess tomorrow.
I wanted to tell you how intelligent Spud is...........he can read.
There was a sign in the middle of the Vet's waiting area which read " "Wet floor" so he did! He actually peed on the sign.
I was so embarrassed!! The receptionists thought it was funny, fortunately.

I do like dog with a sense of humour. Breeze did something similar to me a couple of weeks ago. You just want the ground to swallow you   .

Took Bess to the vet today and they were cleaning the floor as we arrived! Bess took an unusual amount of interest in the "wet floor" sign as if she knew that Spud had been there and left his mark.
