Parthenocarpic courgettes

Having failed to find any Parthenon/Partenon Courgette seeds on sale this year (apart from a few that must be last year's leftovers) I've been looking for other self pollinating courgettes to sow early in the year.

Not Parthenon but I've bought Sure Thing to try.
Cavili seems to be around (Jungle seeds, T&M are out of stock).
Haven't looked to hard for the others.

I might try a courgette in a pot... never tried before. Rubbish idea?? What should i try,

A bush type, not a sprawling one. Look for Patio varieties.

I’ve grown courgettes in pots. They’ve done pretty well. Agree with veggie. Bush type would be better. Although I have grown both.

I only grow courgettes in pots now as they can get too big and take up too much space in the raised beds. They do really well as long as they are kept well fed and watered. Definitely stick to smaller varieties as the sprawling types will make the pot unstable. They are water hogs so you will need a fairly large pot, we grow ours in 50 L ones which this year I will convert in to wicking containers.

Midnight F1 is a compact variety.
