No thunderstorms yet to speak of, some heavy rain due this evening. Its bright and sunny, the panels are working as usual (Phew) it's either weeding or defrosting the freezer today. Now how can I avoid P 'helping' with the freezer and being picky about what I've got in there? e.g. 'why did you freeze this?', ''How many of these do you think you need?' 'Do you know how old this is!?'etc

It's been raining all morning and the lane is a bit of a mud bath after the local farmer was harvesting some fields of maize/sweetcorn yesterday. A robin and a blackbird both decided to have a bath in the rain. Their bath is just outside the patio window. Probably go for a walk after finishing my tea and then pick some raspberries if it stays dry.

Last day on the North Strip for 3 weeks. Couldn't do much as the ground is so wet but managed to plant some blue iris corms that had been sitting in a bucket for a few weeks.
Spent some time in the GH when it rained - took out the CFBs as the leaves didn't look very healthy. Next year, I'll start an early bucket of beans in the GH. Cut back another tomato plant just leaving the fruit trusses in the hope that they'll ripen - although I have masses of toms in there without worrying about a few small green ones.

I’ve spent most of the day in the garden. Saved seeds, sown seeds, cleaned seeds. Cut down asparagus and weeded them. Harvested the last of my carrots. Potted on my cabbage seedlings. Pulled up some of the french bean. Hung them in the tunnel to dry. Bagged my seeds for the circle.

Another very wet day.
Composted most of the early sown tomatoes that have been in little pots since January. There were still a few tomatoes on them. Moved some Primula obconica into their place. I have 7 of these, all split from a houseplant that my Mum had. Some of them need splitting again.
Sorted seeds.

Picked ripe and almost ripe Tom's, then took out a couple of plants that had finished. Removed the last courgette plant.

Digging out dock and other deep rooted weeds from Strip 2. Cutting down straggly lemon balm. Taking cuttings of Pineapple Sage.

Picked a whole bunch of tomatoes. Some have split so I think that's because all the rain recently is benefitting even the toms in the big greenhouse.
