What’s your top 3 flower for cutting? That you grow from seed.
What’s most important the main event or fillers?

I don't grow flowers for cutting but, if I did, I'd be looking for productivity, like sweet peas that, the more you cut, the more they grow.

Sweet peas every time. No fillers with them, just a big bunch in a vase.

I'm going to try single flowered dahlias next year from seed for cutting. I grew a few this year, but because it has been so dry and I didn't water anything, they are only just beginning to grow properly and get buds. Ditto with rudbeckia, this year's flowers from seed are only a foot tall. They are supposed to be "cherry brandy" but some are distinctly yellow and the rest are a chocolate/orange blend. The yellow ones will go in the compost, hate that colour.

I do like sweetpeas ....but the big bunch is very time consuming to pick and they havent got a long vase life. So not a good option for me.

Snapdragons
Sweet williams - could have hundreds of these as they smell fabulous and last so long.

I've never really given sweet peas a good go. But I'm inspired by you lot. I love fragrance for cut flowers. Would you recommend any particular sweet pea or are they all fragrant?

Matucana is supposed to be one of the best - but Ive not found any difference?! I think they all scent a room. I would choose a colour that you like best.
