Strange how memory works.
At school we had individual labelled bed of Annuals, Half Hardy Annuals, Biennilas and Perennials. The gardening teacher was also the maths tutor so he had us learning the plants the way we learned our maths tables, parrot fashion.
Its well over 50 years ago that I used to help out in the school gardens and I can still remember the order of the rows of hardy annuals to this day!
We had Larkspur,Cosmos, Lavatera ,Cornflower, Calendula, Eschaltzia,Clarkoa, Godetia and Love Lies Bleeding in that exact order in the annual bed!
As you were..........carry on!

You were lucky, we just had a playground with hard surfaces - the sort that broke your arm if you fell on it (guess how I know).

The benefits of having a progressive minded and gardening keen teaching staff. Sad fact is the school and it's wonderful gardens has been demolished now, to make way for i know not what?

May as well ask for next weeks flowers now so that I can find the seeds in readiness.
The question is - name a few flowers and a herb that can be sown at the end of September with names starting with the letter G-L.
Bonus points for a plant that has an edible use.
