Autumn Sowing Hardy Annuals

So I love sowing in the Autumn, gives me something to do when it's raining as I can potter in the greenhouse and then these can go out early and I can start again in Spring! Some are biennials/ perennial- but these are all treated as annuals for me in the garden.

Hardy annuals I've started this week....

Snapdragons ( I know technically a perennial but I sow fresh every year)
Love in a mist
Poppies - I'm growing some fancy variety for seed heads
Mallow - white - Mont Blanc , silver cup and loveliness- both pink.
Daucus
Ammi
Sweet rocket

#Ones I did earlier!
Cornflowers
Scabious - salmon queen, black knight

What seeds do you sow in Autumn??

I love clary Sage - I didn't sow any last year - and I really missed them.

SRaven says she autumn sows... I did them in Jan once and they were fabulous. Never sown in Sept- everywhere else I read says start in Spring.

I may dig out some old seed and see if I have some luck.

Love clary sage too . Used it a lot this year and it’s still going strong.

This is my clary - and I picked a fair few this morning.
Clary is one of the few hardy annuals that don’t do well for me when I sow in Autumn. They germinate well, then the stems go weak and keel over. My best ones are the ones that self sow, which I dig up from the garden about March, put in modules to bring them on for a few weeks and then plant them out where I really want them.

I did have some self seeded one this year...

Ive never sown them in Autumn before? The ones I did in January were amazing. I'll sow some more in Jan and compare as Ive already sown some today.
Definitely could have used lots of this but my self seeded ones were a bit short for me to use.l - lack of water. I really love it.

Can you sow Achillea now? Just saved some.
I’ve sown snap dragons, chrysanthemum, sweet William, quaking grass and other stuff I probably shouldn’t of  Blush .
