Managed to get the majority of my new wood store cut and fastened together. All the wood I have left now can be chopped up for firewood. Cool

After Rockfit this evening I called at the allotment to water greenhouse stuff. While I was there I sowed another row of spring cabbage and two rows of perpetual spinach. Smile

Work, only the 2 small cottages. Then I started lifting the slabs between my raised beads. First path load slabs have been stacked. Collected seeds. Then did some work on the house.
Builder that would like to go play in the garden.

Picked blackberries from the end of the garden.
Lifted the onions - they're not much bigger than when they were planted!
Started to clear the peach tree bed which will probably become the rhubarb bed..

I'm clearing out one of the sheds to make way for the summerhouse. One shed is staying, and that was full of cardboard. That's now been moved into a corner of the greenhouse, and all the shelving has been put in its place. The shed that we're dismantling still have kitchen carcasses that we'll put in the new summerhouse. They need to be moved into the smaller summerhouse while the big one is built, eventually.
I've tidied up all the stuff that was on the lawn, waiting for the shelves to be in place. I've changed the storage for all my bamboo sticks from an old, tall kitchen bin to a wicker washbasket that we've just decommissioned in the bathroom.
I've sanded a wrought iron table, only lightly, and cleaned it. Tomorrow it'll be spray painted.
I've also severely cut back all the bushes along the side of the house, because it's irritating me that I have to spend time cutting them back every three weeks or so, instead of 'real' gardening. So today they got a severe chop and it's brightened up that passage so much. I think that's the nail in the coffin for them to be honest - they'll all have to go.

I noticed one or two shoulders of my carrots had been nibbled, so took the mesh off the carrots and kale to earth up the carrots. It transpired that the mice got fed up with carrots as not many had been nibbled for which I was thankful, instead the little so and sos have eaten all the growing points of the kale. Some days you just can't win. Sad measures have been taken!

Finished building my woodstore then chopped up some of the remainiing wood for burning.

Visited the family for our bi -annual card game. Always play cards on boxing day and usually try to fit in a couple of family get togethers throughout the year. It was nice to see the family...........and take their money off them! Big Grin

Ventured over the plot for the first time since my op this morning, did a quick hour.

Lifted the sweetcorn as it had all gone to seedSad, replaced with some paq choi seedlings.

Lifted the onions, disappointed with the yield but pleased with how some of the Zebrunes / Long Red Florence turned out, will put more effort in next year!

Checked the perennial kales and globes artichokes I'd planted about a week ago, was pleased to see no damage.
Regards..........Danny Smile

I've cut the grass today, and all the rest of the day has gone on the bathroom and doing what the tiler can't do (clearly)

Tomorrow I'm hoping the tiler can do the rest in the bathroom so I can spend the day preparing for my holiday on Sunday, or in the garden sowing some seeds.

Clearing a path to the 3rd gate into the Veg shop. The brambles have wriggled through the gate and it was impossible to open fully. I can just squeeze through now but lots more clearing to do before its a functional entrance again.
