I think I spotted on a tv program somewhere where the boards had been stacked with latts in between to allow for air circulation? This gave a pattern to the boards when they were installed. Will this be the case with yours SC?

We do have all the boards separated by 1”x1” sticks that we cut from the edges of the logs. For air circulation. So yeah they may well have the odd stripe on them when they go up.

You've saved a shed load of money there SC, learned a reusable skill you can farm out also the satisfaction of 'all our own work. A win, win situation no matter how you look at it. Isn't it frightening the price of timber.

A little way to go yet . Still got all the drainage, treatment plant & windows to install ( and buy!). Also everything inside   .
