I've weeded the carrot and parsnip bed and the carrots are coming along nicely. I might have pulled up whatever few parnsips germinated. I will sow more when I get home from hols. I have the seeds, and nothing to lose by sowing them

I arrived back home at the end of this afternoon after 5 nights away and was relieved to find that everything in the garden has pretty much survived the heatwave. The tomatoes have doubled in size!
Sadly my plan to leave all the vulnerable stuff still in pots sitting in trays of water in the shelter of the garage didn't work out, with galloping damping off disease taking out most of the brassicas, cucumbers, aubergines, rudbeckia & tithonia
Maybe they should have been left to take their chances outside!
We've moved it all back outside, so we'll see if anything recovers.

Planted out the remaining tithonia and nicotiana grown from seed and some cactus dahlias I'd started off in pots. Also planted up a spare pot with a pink La Campanella fuchsia and begonias.
I'm really trying to get all the bedding plants out this week. It's nice to have less to take back inside each day.

Cleared more of the GH beds and immediately planted some tomatoes. Only 5 more toms to plant and I'll do those tomorrow. Only nipping off sideshoots, tying in and then, picking to do.

Just back from walking my sons dog, or small horse if you like. He’s an American Bulldog and weighs 35kg of solid muscle. He brought me for the walk

Emptied the car of the scrounged wood and transported it to the top of the back garden. Got some shopping to do tomorrow but after that if the weather isn't too bad I may get the chainsaw out and chop it up for firewood.

Just weeding today. Parsnips and early potatoes. Would have done a lot more (weeding mainly) but was needed on a shopping trip.

Half hour crop and drop round the pallet collars.
Planted out 3 tree spinach(well I think that's what they are!).
Planted out 4 courgette plants at home(2 x Zucchini & Shooting Star), will eventually move them to the plot.
Regards..........Danny
