I'm going to pick my first strawberry(s) of the season today. They might not get indoors nor be shared. There's only 4, 3 small, one big ripening up in the gh.
Globe artichokes. Picked, soaked in salty water to get the aphids out, prepped, boiled whole and then halved them, at which point I found that half of them had maggots in the top of the stem/base of the flower head

How disappointing. A little extra protein perhaps
The protein I'm just about okay with, it's the icky mess they've left behind in all the tunnels that's more off putting, especially in a salad. Nowhere to hide!
So happy to have grown my first ever cauliflower! This was sown in September or October, can't quite remember, then overwintered in the greenhouse before being planted in to a 15 L pot in February. The pot was kept in the greenhouse until March. This one doubled in size in a few days. The pots got quite dry so it looks like it's started to go to seed a bit, but still well chuffed with the result!
