I love the gate! Jay would hate it, as he has been brainwashed into thinking anything bought from Amazon is best, but I like the rural, cottagey rustic style
I've gotten absolutely nothing done today in the garden, other than taking leftover cake to the chickens and collecting eggs. First day back at work, and then having to study. But I'm hoping to free up weekend time so that I don't have to study then
Was going to plant some potatoes, but was out and noticed that there is still snow on Goatfell, Arran which means that there is still the potential for a temperature drop
Stayed 4.5 hours late at work to try and jump through some training hoops. I stayed about 3.5 hours late on Monday too. It wouldn't be so bad, but I'm already scheduled to work 61.5 hours this week, so the extra time plus the odd early start/late finish for other reasons means I'll hit more than 70 hours. Not conducive to getting much gardening done!
However, I have come home to a seed delivery (mostly flowers and ornamental grasses) so that's something! I have a day off tomorrow (the only one this week) so hopefully I can get something done in addition to my laundry, grocery shopping, etc!
Formerly self-contained, but expanding my gardening horizons beyond pots!
Before I went to Rockfit last night I dragged the breadmaker down from the spare bedroom, gave it a good clean then loaded it up with a garlic and rosemary foccacino bread mix that I had bought cheaply from somewhere.
When I returned the house smelled of freshly baked bread and Kato and myself enjoyed eating about 1/4 of the loaf , warm, slathered in butter.
I had forgotten how nice frshly baked bread was.
Today is shopping day, so I might get another bread mix!

Potted up the early tomatoes - finally!! House x 3, Rambling Red x 2., Red Robin x1, Vilma x 1, 3 Cheeses High x 1 but looking very puny.
Planted 17 Centurion onion sets in modules - stops the birds pulling them up.
Drained most of the pond water, found 5 frogs and 12 fish. Fish moved to another pond. Left a few inches of water and the sediment, plus a few waterlilies for the frogs to make merry in. Frog spawn had magically appeared later.
