My resolutions were tame compared to some: grow chillies and lose weight. I achieved one at least, the other I suppose I did achieve but in a very desultory way. I don't really consider one or two pounds 'weight loss'

The 'plan' is to do this in late September before the snows return (hopefully) and after a spring and summer of training hikes. We've managed to fit in one gentle hilly walk so far, and given that I was puffing and blowing walking back up the hill from a friend's house the other night, I think my chances of doing this are slim.
But bringing this thread back up (Thanks ), might kick me into gear.
Might!!

Just wondering how you all got on with your "resolutions"?
I failed miserably, sowing very few pips.

Resolutions? What resolutions? I've been to sleep since then, so I don't remember. Oh yes I grew chillies, not bothering again, lost weight, a little, put right back on again, yesterday probably. We'll need to start thinking about new ones soon.

^^^ That's why I though I'd bump this thread so that we can just regurgitate the ones we failed on this year.

We were due to climb (a strenuous hike rather than an actual climb) in September 2013 but I became ill with RA in August of that year. Ever since, I've been nervous about walking too far into the mountains just in case it becomes too painful at a remote spot. But, I've finally found meds that both work well and don't leave me feeling sick as a dog so I think this year might be the one! So, maybe next year!!
Here are the excuses -
We seemed to go straight from lockdown (in France we were limited to 1km from home once per day for just one hour for exercise, so no chance to practice walking up mountains ) to building extensions and then were flat out running two gites.
And then the snow came early so that was that!!
This year we are able to ski again, so may come out of the winter with a degree of fitness.
