The garden from scratch

The drone photos are a great help for visualising how the garden might be laid .
I’ve added a little secret garden at the back of our wooded area. It’ll be only accessible through the wood.

No idea! I keep forgetting to go have a look at that area. Those lines aren’t obvious from ground level.
It’ll be quite interesting to find out.

They seem to feed into the stream - maybe drainage channels?
Is that bit on your plot or next doors?

They may well be drainage. It’s on our neighbours land and he dug drainage the same time as us which is why some of the drainage channels on there plot & ours are joined.

I’ve been have thoughts! Your opinion please.
I’m thinking of putting my little tunnel inside my big tunnel.
Little tunnel is 10x10ft big tunnel is 14x25ft
Something like this

Obviously not to scale.
Was thinking I could still get round the little tunnel. Give it a loose fitting cover that comes off in summer, on in winter.

Argument for

Only having 2 tunnels on view not 3.
Extra protection for delicate plants in winter.

Against
Loss of internal space

Russian dolls? A cold frame inside the little tunnel? Smile joking apart, perhaps an experiment to see the level of added temperature protection would make your mind up.

If you put a 10 x 10 inside a 14 x 25 and need room to move around the 10X10 you'll be losing the space on the sides for cultivation - even if the small one was right against the end wall, it will take up 10 x 14 space.
How about the height difference? Is there one? Covers may be touching? Ease of removing cover inside another tunnel??
May be better to create smaller covered beds within big tunnel and keep small tunnel for later when you decide you need it.
