Like you, Bren, I'd never thought of eating broad bean leaves - which is daft when we eat the tops before the blackfly arrive!

When I used to grow BB I liked to eat the tops in omelettes.

UPDATE - Nothing really, the peas & beans are just swollen things sitting on the compost. Not sure if I should have covered them or not - but I didn't!. They're in an unheated propagator in the GH so its a bit cold - maybe they should be indoors to speed things up?

For the record, I ate some broad bean leaves off the Aquadulce seedlings I have ready to plan out - they tasted like "fresh" beans. Nicer than I expected.Smile

I’ve done sprouting chickpeas not tried them as shoots...

I thought you shouldn't eat raw chickpeas. does sprouting them make a difference?

I grew Broad bean shoots last Spring, I wasn't a fan, tasted really earthy to me. Mind you I've just done an online supermarket shop for tomorrow and no whole lettuces are available so maybe Broad Bean shoots will be a tad more attractive if this carries on.
