Jobs for the coming week

Continue to skim, fork, dig, weed the plot (get son involved, surely!)

Sow some more bits including brassicas, I have no idea why the brassicas have germinated and then died, I thought they were idiot proof?!

Since I started this, I'd better make a list!!

GH jobs -
Armpit and tie-in tomatoes. 
Put sideshoots in water to root.
Sow salad leaves in beds around tom pots.
Sow carrots in buckets

Seed sowing indoors:-
Random squash, cucumbers, courgettes
More beans.
Sunflowers
Parsley and basil

Pot up:-
Loofa seedlings

Plant out:-
Courgettes and Trombas
Rooted Mint cuttings.

Take cuttings -
Lavender, Rosemary 
Rose (Zephirine Drouhin)
Late addition - Mint for Mint paths

Finish weeding and merging the Mulberry and Cherry beds.

 = Job Done!!

- try to find the battery for my strimmer - NOT found, I think I will need to buy a replacement. Then I will find it.
- sow all the beans and peas - NOT done. I will sow direct on the plot next weekend.
- mollycoddle my two trombos that have appeared, along with other squashes - more have germinated, but still mollycoddling them!
- sow more trombos just in case the others don't show - NOT done, because I might have enough now.
- deliver 10 compost bags to the allotment and spread them - DONE! It looks fantastic. I need more compost
- write one essay on economics and one economics quiz (deadline tuesday in 10 days time) - DONE!! Woohooo!!
- take new hose spray head to the allotment as someone's took my old one - DONE! And used it today. It doubles as a sprinkler while I'm up there too.
- weed - done loads of that. Thankfully it's coming up quite easily, even though there's large clumps of grass... The weeds with taproots are thankfully not too common.

I have another long weekend coming up - Monday off early next week, so three days. I might pack in two days on the allotement to continue celebrating that I've finished all my uni work and never studying economics again lol

pollinated first courgette flowers ( never had a boy & girl flower open at the same time, this early in the season before. Very exciting   ).
other jobs still to do this week.
plant out herbs.
pot up rooted mint cuttings.
plant out more sunflowers.
plant out spaghetti, summer & crookneck squash.

Must get toms and chillies into final position this week.

Planted out courgettes and French    beans.  Need to find somewhere to plant the remaining basil plants.  Already got plenty in the GH.

My sow list is fixed, but everything else tends to be a rolling list!

My To Sow List is - beetroot, peas, red cabbage, cauliflower, lettuce, parsnip (maybe), radish, turnips. 

Plant Out List - more peppers & aubergines, chillies, kales, sprouts, basil, cabbage, broccoli, turnips, beetroot, cucumbers (maybe), French beans, melons (maybe).
Weed the Bank Bed which hasn't been touched yet this year thanks to two broods of blackbirds in the hedge along the side and a very flighty female who would not stay on the nest if I was around. May get done tomorrow after the rain today.
Strim grass paths in the potager.
Turn the compost heaps.
Plant up hanging baskets - spider plants and classic red pelargoniums as every year!

Didn't sow peas or parsnips but did the rest.
Didn't plant out cabbages, kales, sprouts or melons (all too small to cope with the hot week) but all the rest are in and growing. (Slugs topped one chilli biquino red.)
Didn't weed the bank bed - on the list for this week, ony if it rains.
Grass paths strimmed.
Two of three heaps turned, mamma rat left alone with her brood in the third one.
Baskets planted.

My Excuse for not completing this - the Heat. Its been too hot to plant things out when I knew I wouldn't be able to keep them watered.
