Danny, I elect you as president of the commercial seed swap thread, as such you are tasked with starting the thread and listing all your packeted seeds you want to get rid of. If you do I will too. This is one president election you can say you've won and it's TRUE, unlike some I could name.

The problems with the "other" one were:-
I inherited a load of old seed, that nobody wanted to grow
People wanted to swap their "front of magazine" seeds for something rare
Some people were unreasonable and treated it like a shop, moaned if their "orders" weren't filled immediately. One memorable person wanted 100 packets of seed sent to her in the week before Christmas - like I had nothing else to do.
People "forgot" to send stamps..........several times.
You get the idea!! It ceased to be fun and became a chore. Frantically racking my brain, double checking I wasn’t one of the pains in the @rse .
I like the idea of you dishing out seeds at random so you’re not left with lots of older & common seeds.
How would you do that? Something like requesting SAE to be with you by a certain date. Then you send them back with a random selection of seed.
Builder that would like to go play in the garden.

Don't worry, SC, you were never a PITA. No members of G&G were in that category so you can all sleep easy tonight.
Yes, that sort of random seed swap, maybe part of the Random Seed Swaps I've run before where you can send in extra seeds and get even more back!!

Will start to sort my seeds out, aiming for 8-10 packs. I may struggle with some, how many tomato seeds per pack please?

Maybe 5-10 tomato seeds per packet - depends on how many you have. Don't worry too much - 2 seeds are better than none.

I’m sorry guys but I won’t participate in the seed swaps, it’s not that I’m unsociable or anything like that. It’s just I’m not into all this saving and sorting, after my experience with trying to grow chillies from seed won’t be doing that again, what a waste of money and time, I don’t really have the facilities or possibility for starting them in February and having constant light and heat, so far easier to order plug plants and that’s what I’ve done. Same too goes for tomatoes. The other big minus is I can’t get uk stamps for SAE’s and I wouldn’t expect people to send them to me at their own expense. So please excuse me from the circle, and thank you for your understanding.

No problem, CtM. If you want to share any seeds at some time, I'm sure we can arrange a way to send them to you.

There's always ways around it. I used to send to someone in Ireland - I was never out of pocket. Actually I recently received some surprise seeds from someone in Germany - again from the swaps. Swapping seeds with friends can be fun.
I suggest you try again with chillies from seed kitchen windowsill, early feb is fine.
