New Seed catalogues - be wary!

I feel bad now that I bought some Trinidad Perfume seeds from the JW range - I was being impatient and Suttons was the only place I could find them in stock. Shan't be buying from them again!
How much veg and wildlife can I pack into a 6m x 8m garden in suburban Cambridge? Let’s find out!  Smile

I'm not defending him, but I do have a weakness when it comes to unusual seeds and love to try something 'weird' or something no one else grows on the allotment for example. Texel greens is something I have seeds for - I didn't know it had a fancier version, and I'm a bit surprised that I know them as their original name!

I have found seeds through JW's collections that I now grow all the time, such as cucamelons.

I hate the deception though... I hate it.

Cucamelons = Mouse melons = Melothrie = Melothria scabra = Mexican sour gherkin = Mexican miniature watermelon = Mexican sour cucumber = Pepquinos = Pepquino melon.

From a marketing point of view, I would think calling it "sour" might not be good for sales & Melothrie/a and Pepquino don't trip off the tongue so they call them something easy to say and "cute" - like Cucamelon.

Also sold as Incan mouse melons. I fell for that one  Blush
Builder that would like to go play in the garden.

Lots of us fell for them - mine were Melothrie from Realseeds. I've tried growing them a couple of times (because I have seeds) but I wouldn't buy any more.

Just come across another renaming for no obvious reason.
Rambling Red Stripe tomato, which I've been growing for years, has been renamed "Tumbling Jester".
I assume its so that it fits in with all the other tumbling tomatoes like Tumbling Tiger & Tumbling Tom.

Here's another tomato that's been renamed - by Suttons -
Tomato Seeds - F1 Tumbling Bella (Terenzo) (Determinate)
Packet Content 10 seeds £3.49

I think I have a packet of Terenzo in my box.
