I rarely cut flowers from the garden as I prefer to see them growing outdoors. Cutting flower heads off seems so ungrateful !! I might cut flowers from a shrub that wouldn't miss a few flowers but otherwise I only pick damaged flowers, like the daffodils that have snapped off in the wind. 
Maybe, if I grow CACA flowers, I could convince myself that I'm not being ungrateful!!

I’m the same. Which is a little odd as I do the cut flower thing. Like you I prefer the CACA , it definitely alleviates the guilt. There are some things I’ll never pick for a bunch of flowers. Foxglove is one and antirrhinum is another. Having said that my friend has sent me lots of seed for my cut flower bed and there is a lot of antirrhinums in the collection. Most of which I will use because they’re all F1. Most things I do harvest from for bunches. I never take all of them I always leave a few of everything for the plant and for the things that feed on it. . I grow lots of sunflowers mostly because I love sunflowers but I do use a few head from the multi headed varieties. I’d never consider cutting a single headed one just to stick in a vase.

I'm similar to SC in approach. I grow some flowers for cutting, but never cut everything. I often leave perfect stems and bring in the knocked-over and broken ones. My urge to cut is supported by the fact that I grow a lot of my flowers at the allotment so would otherwise not get much chance to see them. I like a lot of silly frilly looking flowers but have come over a lot more to single varieties to make sure the wildlife are getting something from them as well.
