Looking at the pictures, the crows haven't been after the plants. May be they have been using them to locate something else? Grubs or worms may be? Or have you been using a lot of bfb that they can smell and taste?

Thanks Mark but they also attacked my mature onions and broke up the green leaves, BTW what is bfb .
