Habit tracking!

I could do with the habit of putting tools away when finished with. I do now mainly put them either just inside a small greenhouse or a garden shed but I have to make a concious effort to do so. My main problem though is tidiness on the job. The length of time I waste looking for tools that have been plonked, it could be hammers, screwdrivers, trowels... I used to drive my father-in-law mad when I was renovating our house and he used to come and help me. He was for ever collecting tools from wherever. I'm not sure what habit is needed to fix being a plonker.
