What’s doing this to my lawn?! - Jay - 27-06-2021 Any ideas what’s doing this to our lawn? It’s all over the grass...we are in the countryside here so maybe pheasant or deer or something else? No animal dropping anywhere to give us a clue! TIA [attachment=3238] [attachment=3239] RE: What’s doing this to my lawn?! - Scarlet - 27-06-2021 Badgers?? Everything is foraging for their little ones now so you will get lots more animal activity. This is the time we often got fox attacks on our chickens. Badgers dig for worms and things so they may be a possibility? RE: What’s doing this to my lawn?! - Vinny - 27-06-2021 First piccie looks like shallow mole runs? RE: What’s doing this to my lawn?! - Jay - 27-06-2021 We did have a mole but there is no hole where these marks are. (Unless they backfill?) RE: What’s doing this to my lawn?! - Veggie - 27-06-2021 How about chafer grubs/May bugs https://www.rhs.org.uk/advice/profile?pid=487 RE: What’s doing this to my lawn?! - Scarlet - 27-06-2021 (27-06-2021, 02:28 PM)Vinny Wrote: First piccie looks like shallow mole runs?Or voles? RE: What’s doing this to my lawn?! - Can the Man - 27-06-2021 I like the idea of Veggies Chafer grubs as a possibility RE: What’s doing this to my lawn?! - MartinH - 27-06-2021 Maybe crows or some other birds after chafer grubs or leatherjackets? RE: What’s doing this to my lawn?! - Jay - 27-06-2021 Caught a pheasant strolling through tonight but thought they just scratched the ground, some of these marks are about an inch or so deep and perfect round circles. Thought about mice or voles but as I said if you put a stick down it stops after about 1-2 inches. Maybe it’s aliens?!! RE: What’s doing this to my lawn?! - Veggie - 27-06-2021 They sound like Badger Snuffle holes https://badgerwatcher.com/how-to-recognise-a-badger-sett/ |
