Last night, Spud brought one of his hedgehog friends to play again - he carries it by its spikes. This time the hedgehog spiked Spud on the chin and drew blood. I hope it teaches Spud a lesson and he stops carrying them around.
I always put words in the mouths of creatures - as if they're in a storybook. I imagine the hedgehog is either grateful that he didn't have to walk all the way up to the house in his search for food, maybe he trips Spud up to attract attention and asks for a lift. On the other hand, he could be really cross because he has to walk all the way back to wherever he was found and Spud has interrupted his meal.
Its raining hard here now - we have a yellow rain warning (whatever yellow rain is - answers not required!). The ground is very wet, weeds are coming out easily, its just not pleasant being out there. I come back several inches taller with all the mud on my boots. Smile
Kato has two what I call 'friends ' but Kato calls 'dinner' Rolleyes

He went to bite one of the white horses noses through the fence until I dragged him back. The horse galloped away then turned round and headed back full pelt. Oh no, I thought it was going to clear the fence, but it screeched to a halt, spun around and farted in Kato's face. Cry

Serves him right for working his ticket. Big Grin  Big Grin

Evening All Smile
Those of you who have known me for a long time will know that I bought a 3 acre wood in West Wales, back in 2012. I haven't been to see it for a couple of years and last I heard there was a tree down blocking the gate into the wood.
This morning, there was a news item about people wanting to buy woodland https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-58804595 so I decided to sell mine!
I rang the company I bought it from for advice and they said they would buy it back, sight unseen, for the price I paid for it or would act as agents on commission to sell it when I should get a higher price for it. I thought about it for about 2 minutes, decided that it would be too difficult to sell with the fallen tree and goodness knows what other damage within the wood, so agreed to sell it back to the company.
Tomorrow, I'll find a solicitor to handle the paperwork and, hopefully, it will have been sold in a couple of weeks.
I'll be sad when it goes, but its better that it goes to somebody who can actively own it, than I hang on to it and worry about ash dieback or squatters.
When I woke up this morning, the last thing on my mind was selling the wood - funny how things happen when you don't expect it.

Hope your day has been full of surprises too. Smile

Veggie no surprises here I know there'd be dust and cobwebs when I started moving furniture around.

I'd forgotten all about your wood like you say someone else can make use of it now.

I could fancy a wood. I remember you mentioning it in the past, but always assumed it was joined to your house! If I had a wood I would sell the house and move onto it with my camper! It could be my private movable 'Tiny Home'! Cool Kato would love it too and if it was fenced he could explore it at his leisure. He has never been off a long lead as at the first chance he gets, he bolts, ne'er t be seen again! Rolleyes

RE: Good Morning, Afternoon, Evening, Night! - Veggie - 06-10-2021

I wish it was joined to my house but its about 60 miles away! It was only a few miles from my little house down west though. After I sold that house, the wood was just too far away for a day trip - and I've never been tempted to camp overnight. Too many spooky noises for me!
Owning a wood was one of those bucket list things that I can cross off the list, same as living in a house by the sea and going to Peru.
Guess my next one should be getting the garden in shape. Big Grin

Morning all

Dog walking first then shooting off to the Metro Centre with my daughter to do some C*******s shopping! Sick

Should be fun as I hate the Metro Centre and hate this type of shopping. Helen used to set budgets for this  and do it all usually so I haven't got a clue what to get anyone or how much to spend? Cry

Hopefully Daughter will keep me right on this! Rolleyes

Vinny, was it as bad as you feared? Big Grin
I've been continuing with wood sale endeavour - solicitor appointed and details sent to purchaser.
On the strength of some money coming in, I've booked a local garage door fitting company to give me a quote for repairing/replacing the garage doors. I was told that " We don't send out smartly dressed salespeople, it'll be Jeff - he's big, scruffy and has a ponytail - he'll also fit your doors for you so he knows what he's doing!". Sounds perfect. Big Grin
Its getting dark so early now - before 7 pm. Must go and read the chooks their bedtime story and tuck them into bed for the night.!!

Morning folks

No Veggie, it wasn't as bad as I feared! Rolleyes With the help of my Daughter who knows her way around the Metro-centre, I managed to get the majority of my Crimbo shopping done. Cost me an arm and a leg and I have a bad back from carrying stuff but hey-ho that can't be helped.
I now have something for every grandchild and family member and only need to add a couple of home made items and some small internet purchases.Well chuffed! Big Grin

I had a delivery yesterday when I was out (luckily I stuck a note on the front door telling delivery person where to put parcel) and unwrapped a flat-pack sideboard for camper last night. After looking at the pile of parts on the living room carpet I decided to leave it to this morning to put together as I function better in the mornings. Smile

Dog to walk then I will start assembling it. I won't fully assemble it though as I need to 'doctor' it to make it fit my camper.

If it stays dry I would also like to get my lawn cut as it appears to have put on a late spurt of growth! Cry

Morning Smile

Its good to hear your shopping trip went of well Vinny, one thing less to think about.   I'm another who avoids shopping centres, but I can wonder around charity shops and flea markets all afternoon. Big Grin
