Morning Smile

Vinny the snows gone from our garden but still plenty in the fields so any walking will be just along the lanes.
We have the heating on during the day so they warm the whole house then light the wood burner in the evening when we go in to watch TV. You're right about the fire having a nice glow it feels a different type of heat to the radiators.

Sounds nice, reminds me of the advert with the dog, cat, and mouse in front of the fire.

I always seem to remember it of a Sunday evening during the 9pm drama.

Morning we have rain Sad so I won't be doing much outdoors.

Vinny I do like making pies I'm doing a steak one today and probably an apple and blackberry using some frozen fruit. What will be in yours?

Morning all.

Its been 'interesting' to say the least for me. No hot water and boiler wasn't working. Looked up the error code E28 on google and ascertained it was a frozen condensate pipe. It was rather cold and windy last night. (Eek)

After half a dozen kettles full of hot water dribbled over the pipework I managed to get ice away and boiler is now working.. Cool

Went out with dog for his morning walk and as I rounded the corner onto the A68 I couldn't believe the wind was drifting the snow across the road and it was nigh on impossible to walk against the blizzard. Decided to go with the wind on our backs opposite direction to our usual walks.Walking across the fields I was sinking in to the drifts and the dog was walking on top of them (thats why Siberian Huskies have furry feet)
Got to the bottom of the field and the old farmer got stuck with his 4X4 he had been feeding the sheep with. I walked past him then after turning the corner I was worried that he was stuck and would freeze to death so I went back to see him. He told me his son was coming down with the big tractor to pull him out. I asked whether he had a heater in the cab and he said " Oh yes, its toasty in here, but thanks for asking"
Without a heater I am sure he would have froze to death in an hour. Luckily the farm is only a couple of miles away so he would be ok until his son arrived.
Well, after this epic tale I had better start on the dinner. The Brisket is in the oven but I've got all the veg to prepare. TTFN Big Grin

My father, a big bumbling, gentle giant, was called Bumper by his grandchildren. Mother was called Nanna meow (she had cats), MiL was Nana Con (her name was Constance). Nothing too original but identified each individual. My brother's lot call him Grampy...... or sometimes Grumpy. Smile

Morning All from a slightly milder South Wales.
Are you "expecting" Jay??? Mine were Nana and Grampy, the other pair were Dead and Gone before I could talk!
Before this cold spell, I took a tray of Broad bean seedlings to the end of the garden, intending to plant them out. That didn't happen and I stuck them in the remains of a cold frame down there and promptly forgot about them ..........until today!! Today, I shall be venturing down there to see whether they've survived.

Have fun whatever you're doing today .Smile

I might even venture out to the GH now the frost has gone off the lawn. Not sure how my bijou peas and broad beans will have coped with the minus temps.
