RE: 2023 - Tonight's recipe - Vinny - 29-07-2023 Large ribeye steak with a few small calabrese florets stolen from allotment for lunch. Lambs liver with an onion, also from allotment for dinner. RE: 2023 - Tonight's recipe - Veggie - 29-07-2023 Rations day 6. B. Sourdough toast & plum jam L. Salad of lettuce, watercress, rocket, spinach, cucumber, grated carrot and grated cheese with a squirt of mayonnaise. A flapjack D. Courgette, sliced and coated with beaten egg and panko breadcrumbs, shallow fried. The leftover egg and breadcrumbs were mixed together to make a strange eggy thing, like an omelette. With tomatoes and cucumber. RE: 2023 - Tonight's recipe - Vinny - 30-07-2023 A bit of an experiment this morning. I eat a lot of ribeye but it is expesnsive so I have been looking for a cheaper cut of meat? Today I had a ribeye steak AND a braising steak roughly the same size pan fried together in my ridged frier. I had a couple of fried eggs with them. As I expected, the ribeye was the tastiest and the tenderest but at TWICE the price of the other steak, was it worth it? The quetion is, would I rather have TWO braising steaks as opposed to one ribeye steak? My conclusion is that a half way measure is called for with a mixture of both in the future to save a few pennies! Do you lot see what I am having to put myself through for the sake of clarity! RE: 2023 - Tonight's recipe - Veggie - 30-07-2023 You're a martyr to the cause, Vinny. RE: 2023 - Tonight's recipe - Bren - 30-07-2023 Beef casserole with jacket potatoes this evening. RE: 2023 - Tonight's recipe - Veggie - 30-07-2023 Ration Day 6 B. Rhubarb, granola and yogurt L. Salad of lettuce, rocket and spinach, cucumber. tomatoes, grated carrot and cheese. An orange D. RE: 2023 - Tonight's recipe - Vinny - 31-07-2023 Fried mince & onion with a couple of eggs folded into it. RE: 2023 - Tonight's recipe - Small chilli - 31-07-2023 Bacon and egg on toast.
