RE: 2023 - Tonight's recipe - Vinny - 10-05-2023 Not normally my 'fishy' day but I bought some YS smoked cod/haddock so I need to use it up. For the first time ever, I also bought some fresh sardines. My plan is to butterfly fillet them and try them grilled as a starter! Edit:-Well that wasa bit of an anticlimax with the sardines. I thinkI actually prefer them from a tin!!!! I have had feshly caught mackeral fillets grilled before and they were much better than tinned versions..........but not so, sardines! Looking forward to the smoked haddock/cod later though! RE: 2023 - Tonight's recipe - Knotty - 10-05-2023 Sardines are good on the BBQ. RE: 2023 - Tonight's recipe - Small chilli - 10-05-2023 Undecided if it’s going to be curry or stir fry. Either way it’ll be venison and mushrooms. RE: 2023 - Tonight's recipe - Knotty - 10-05-2023 Fish Chowder for us tonight. RE: 2023 - Tonight's recipe - Veggie - 10-05-2023 B. Sourdough toast & Blackcurrant jam L. Last of the Falafel with lettuce and mayo. D. YS king prawns (38p), YS mushrooms (about 15p) stir-fried with lovage, basmati rice cooked with podded mangetout peas and three cornered leeks. and a dollop of Sweet Chilli sauce. Total cost 53p and there's enough left for tomorrow. RE: 2023 - Tonight's recipe - Vinny - 11-05-2023 Slow cooked Shin beef. RE: 2023 - Tonight's recipe - Bren - 11-05-2023 Hot dogs in Brioche buns with a mixed lettuce and homemade coleslaw. RE: 2023 - Tonight's recipe - Small chilli - 11-05-2023 Last night was crispy shredded venison with noodles and a side of garlic mushrooms. Tonight cheese, onion & tomato quesadillas with side salad RE: 2023 - Tonight's recipe - Veggie - 11-05-2023 B. Stewed apple (from freezer) granola & yogurt L. Olive bread D. Leftover prawns & rice from last night. Mostly FREE. RE: 2023 - Tonight's recipe - Mark_Riga - 12-05-2023 Yesterday (forgot to press the button) B. Porridge as usual with redcurrants, raspberries and honey. L. Sandwiches of broadbean hummus with thinly sliced cheese. D. Vegetable, bean & Lentil curry (probably made enough for 12 portions). I cooked 1kg of dried beans and put 1/5th in the dinner. Freezing the rest, about 2kg, to experiment with (homemade baked beans may be). |
