RE: 2022 - Tonight's recipe - Small chilli - 18-03-2022 BBQ pulled pork in a burger bun. Don’t know what with yet. RE: 2022 - Tonight's recipe - Vinny - 18-03-2022 Smoked cod and veggie fish fillets with fries and green beans. Actually the veggie version of fish fillets weren't too bad but the smoked cod was tasteless. I know the stuff you get in the shops isn'r properley smoked and just has smoke flavouring added. I wonder whether I could buy proper smoked cod or haddock from a wet fish shop........if i could find one? RE: 2022 - Tonight's recipe - Veggie - 19-03-2022 Wonky jacket potato with cheese and Morries Savers baked beans (22p a tin, IIRC). They weren't bad actually. RE: 2022 - Tonight's recipe - Bren - 19-03-2022 Thinking of beans I've got a tin of Spiced Taco beans in tomato sauce thats been in the cupboard a while, I ought to do 'something' with that. Suggestions please. RE: 2022 - Tonight's recipe - JJB - 19-03-2022 Fold up in wraps cover with cheese and bake. Fill stand up taco shells. Put into a dish, break eggs into the top and bake. On toast. Mix with pasta, to name a few. I would probably end up eating them cold from the tin RE: 2022 - Tonight's recipe - Bren - 19-03-2022 I like the baked eggs idea, thanks. First I'll open the tin to see what the sauce is like, if it's yuck I'll rinse it of and chuck the beans in a soup or stew. RE: 2022 - Tonight's recipe - Small chilli - 19-03-2022 Chicken Kiev with roasted skins on baby spuds and broccoli. RE: 2022 - Tonight's recipe - Veggie - 19-03-2022 Sweet Potato Katsu Curry - "Panko coated, fried sweet potato wedges with sticky rice and coconut curry sauce". Would I pay £3.50 for it? No, although it was very tasty and an absolute bargain for 35p. It's ridiculously cheap if you buy a whole box which holds a couple of kilos. It freezes so well and is so versatile RE: 2022 - Tonight's recipe - Bren - 20-03-2022 Toad in the hole, carrots, kale/sprouts with french beans and peas from the freezer. Will be making scones while the ovens on. |
