You don't really NEED to buy them, the question is do you really WANT them, if so treat yourself.

OK, Do I really want them (enough to spend money)? Big Grin

Probably not  Wink  remember you're the moneyless chicken.

77H - 60ml
40H - 115ml
28H - 210ml

That's incredibly technical TMTT, a good deal of research went into it I'm sure.  Being  old school and old tech the written  volumes mean  very little to me, I've got to see them side by side. That's entirely my fault.

RE: Seed Trays - Veggie - 27-08-2023

I have a simple way of measuring volume - with my kitchen measuring cups! The one I use most often, holds an ounce of oats and 80ml or 1/3 cup. With my measuring cup in front of me, I can look at TMTT's list and decide which ones are compost meanies and which ones are compost greedies.
There - simples. Big Grin
Thanks TMTT for your hard work. Smile

RE: Seed Trays - toomanytommytoes - 27-08-2023

Don't worry, I didn't have to calculate them myself! Containerwise have the volumes on their website and the rest were just from a quick Google. The only one I had to use a calculator website for was the standard 24 cell - apparently a tapered cube is called a truncated square pyramid.

I think for my purposes the 15H would be good for tomatoes/peppers/cucumbers and the 40H for beans/sweetcorn. Huw's /40L are a bit too small and the 28L a bit too big to replace the standard 24 cell tray for me.

I thought Containerwise were the manufacturers but they're actually made in Portugal by this company - https://www.sinorplasticos.com/en/produt.php?recordID=56

RE: Seed Trays - Scarlet - 30-08-2023

I love my containerwise trays. I got the deep ones - worth every penny. Not the super small. I couldn't stand split and broken trays anymore. I am growing lots of seedlings and a split in a tray can easily end up with a cut.

RE: Seed Trays - Veggie - 01-09-2023

A few days ago I decided I didn't need any seedtrays but.......yesterday, having found some dollars that I'd forgotten I had, I've decided to spend them on seed trays. Big Grin
I've ordered 5 x 28 low trays and 4 x 40 low trays and, using a 5% discount code, they cost £65.46. Its a lot more money that I would normally spend on the garden but hopefully, they'll see me through until I'm kicking up daisies.
The discount code is OAK0222 valid for September only. I think it applies to anything on the Oakland Gardens website. https://www.oaklandgardens.co.uk/
P&P is free - even to the Highlands and Islands. Big Grin
