They are frozen peas so I asume they want them a uniform size? If they were filtered through a sieve to the required size I imagine the rest would be labelled 'wonky' 
A pea is a pea as far as I am concerned and at a quater of the price of un-wonky frozen peas I just had to have them!

There are 3 Pea sizes:- Small = Petit pois (overpriced), Medium = Birds Eye and Large = Bigguns that don't need treacle to stick to your fork.
