RE: Perennial Veg? - Broadway - 12-01-2022 Hi Folks Anyone growing/grown Caucasian Spinach? Supposedly perennial and a bit of a climber, thanks? RE: Perennial Veg? - SarrissUK - 12-01-2022 I thought I had some of those seeds Danny, but according to the search in my mailbox, apparently not. I'm going to see if I can get hold of some seeds. I love the idea of perennial veg. RE: Perennial Veg? - Veggie - 12-01-2022 I haven't grown it but I've just "bought" some seeds of Hablitzia tamnoides. Looks like I'd better sow it as it likes the cold! https://www.incrediblevegetables.co.uk/hablitzia-tamnoides-how-to-grow/ RE: Perennial Veg? - Veggie - 21-02-2022 Sowed the Hablitzia/Caucasian spinach on 21/1 and left the pot outside in the weather! They've germinated - exactly one month. Will you leave them out Veggie? RE: Perennial Veg? - Veggie - 22-02-2022 They're staying out until they grow enough to pot up..............and they'll stay out then too. RE: Perennial Veg? - Scarlet - 23-02-2022 I think elephant garlic can be classed as perennial. I can't grow garlic/onions due to onion rot but I have a patch of elephant garlic. I harvest every year and it always comes back. All those little ones get left behind and carry on growing. I have disturbed in now - in favour of my new flower beds, but it's probably been there for 8 years at least. RE: Perennial Veg? - Veggie - 23-02-2022 Your Elephant garlic is a perennial here too, Scarlet. I have clusters of it in 3 places now.
