For some of us, that could be a very long lane, to be tripping down Veggie Rolleyes

If OH gave me that ever time I was good, I would be having it every day Smile

Today OH was making a lemon cheese cake and I had the empty condensed milk can to lick, now did anyone ever get a piece spread with butter and condensed milk, I went to try it today but was told "don't you dare" not a thing I would useualy listen to, but when she is baking and holding a large sharp knife she uses to cut the lemons I am very attentive Rolleyes Smile

Condensed milk is the nectar of the gods. I like the tubes of it so I can sneak a squeeze now and then, which i why I don't have it in the house. Its lovely spread in a banana sandwich, and yes I remember it on a thick piece of fresh bread.
Spec, I think your definition of good might differ from others Big Grin

The best thing about our coal fire is cooking toast or marshmallows on it Smile

Evidently others must be wrong JJBSmile
Mamzie both you and Can highlight one of the pleasures that you can have with an open fire and of course the auld yin as well though Scottish butter is the best Big Grin

Nay Spec, it’s Irish salty butter is the best. Have it on fresh brown soda bread, warm scones, or Batch Loaf.

I have to disagree with you both, Spec and Can.Tongue
It has to be Welsh butter (although its not the same as it used to be. Wink)

I miss swede- can neither grow it or buy it in the shops Sad
But NZ whitebait was in season for the only 2 weeks we've been lucky enough to be there. I must have eaten it/them half a dozen times.
And please, the best butter is obviously from Normandie !

It has to be Irish butter our cattle are out on green grass all the time all year round. None of that hay or dry fodder. It makes a huge difference. Smile Smile Smile

That's true Can they are out all year even in the wet cold weather when they burn up all their fat which of course is why their butter isn't the good quality of Scottish butter Rolleyes Big Grin
