RE: Greek Oregano - vulgare var. hirtum - Mark_Riga - 04-09-2022 Winter savoury is a nice perennial and the bees love the flowers. Mine is flowering now and is covered. I would second lemon balm as well. https://www.jekkas.com/products/ps28 RE: Greek Oregano - vulgare var. hirtum - Veggie - 04-09-2022 How about Agastache/hyssop? RE: Greek Oregano - vulgare var. hirtum - Scarlet - 05-09-2022 I need to get another list going... I may need to dig up more garden at this rate RE: Greek Oregano - vulgare var. hirtum - Farendwoman - 13-09-2022 Here’s my Greek oregano growing in a seven inch pot. This is just one plant (seed strain called Aristotle). It’s about seven inches tall, very compact and tight almost like a box bush, so I don’t think it would be any good for flower foliage. Very attractive though. RE: Greek Oregano - vulgare var. hirtum - Veggie - 13-09-2022 [attachment=5343] This is my Greek Oregano - the one that grows on the Greek hills. Took me ages to find the plant in the garden - its nowhere near as good looking as FEW's Aristotle (might have to grow that). RE: Greek Oregano - vulgare var. hirtum - Scarlet - 13-09-2022 Disappointing!! I love that in a pot for the patio though Few! VC - if that was supported would it be any better do you think? RE: Greek Oregano - vulgare var. hirtum - Farendwoman - 13-09-2022 Whoops - sorry . It’s not Greek oregano - it’s green basil! I’m definitely losing it! RE: Greek Oregano - vulgare var. hirtum - Farendwoman - 13-09-2022 Greek basil. I meant to say RE: Greek Oregano - vulgare var. hirtum - Farendwoman - 13-09-2022 This is my Greek oregano. I use it quite a bit for foliage. Nice when it’s fresh with little pink flowers and also pretty good when it’s going over. Can get decent 12” ish stems This really is oregano - unlike my previous post which was basil! RE: Greek Oregano - vulgare var. hirtum - Farendwoman - 13-09-2022 Actually - the stems are much longer - loads are two feet long. I can save seed, Scarlet …….., |
