RE: Eco friendly recommendations - JJB - 09-07-2022 It seems you then just spread it on, like icing a cake RE: Eco friendly recommendations - Veggie - 09-07-2022 It does look like frosting for a cake! I usually use solid stick deodorants or crystals (not roll on or aerosols) but this is a bit softer than the norm!! Maybe it'll firm up by morning. RE: Eco friendly recommendations - toomanytommytoes - 09-07-2022 I just use baking soda on its own, mixed with a drop of water to make it into a paste. RE: Eco friendly recommendations - Veggie - 09-07-2022 That sounds a lot easier TMTT. I spread a dab onto my armpits and, surprisingly, it wasn't greasy. I'll let you know at the end of this incredibly hot day how effective it is. RE: Eco friendly recommendations - Bren - 11-07-2022 Sounds interesting, how did it work out Veggie and did it make leave marks on your clothes. RE: Eco friendly recommendations - Veggie - 11-07-2022 The Verdict so far.......... Yesterday I wore a loose cotton shirt so it wasn't close to my armpits so can't really comment on the marks on clothes question - but there weren't any! I got quite hot and sticky during the day but, at bedtime, I didn't smell sweaty. A slight hint, maybe, but nothing compared to many deodorants I've tried. I didn't wash it off last night and, after a really hot night, I was a bit whiffy this morning!! The recipe needed essential oil which I didn't add as I only had Eucalyptus oil that was drippable and I thought it might be a bit overwhelming. However, I've added some this morning to the almost liquid mixture. It would probably work well in a roll-on deodorant container but they're not easy to dismantle. Ask me again tomorrow. RE: Eco friendly recommendations - Veggie - 13-07-2022 Day 3 and all is well. I'm going to keep using it. Definitely worth a try. RE: Eco friendly recommendations - Vinny - 14-07-2022 Thinking of you Veggie I bought some coconut oil. Thats as far as i got though. RE: Eco friendly recommendations - Veggie - 14-07-2022 You possibly have the rest of the ingredients in the back of the cupboard - or your daughter/son will. One thing, and this is a bit personal, ,,,,if your armpits are a bit hairy the deodorant seems to cake on the hairs. |
