RE: Good Morning, Afternoon, Evening, Night! - Admin - 28-05-2020 Morning All Very warm overnight and restless as a consequence. No plotting today as theses old bones need a rest. The sun is out again and still no sign of rain, so will have to visit tomorrow to water. Have a happy Thursday RE: Good Morning, Afternoon, Evening, Night! - JJB - 28-05-2020 Thursday is shopping day, I would rather be planting out than queuing, but at least it's fine. Look on the bright side and see what the afternoon brings. Have a happy day everyone. RE: Good Morning, Afternoon, Evening, Night! - Can the Man - 28-05-2020 Morning everybody looks a beautiful day, have the day off work to spend weeding and earthing up in the garden, also plan to plant out red onions and lettuce plants RE: Good Morning, Afternoon, Evening, Night! - Vinny - 28-05-2020 Morning all. Trip to allotment soon. Leeks to plant out. Brussel Sprouts to plant out. Tomatoes to plant in large pots in greenhouse. Try and get various kales sown and some PSB if I have any seeds? TTFN RE: Good Morning, Afternoon, Evening, Night! - Broadway - 28-05-2020 Morning all, another glorious day. Did an hour down the plot earlier, watering, feeding the strawberries, preparing the bean area and general pottering about without any digging. I dream of the time when I can go down the plot a potter about for hours on end without constant digging Have a great day all RE: Good Morning, Afternoon, Evening, Night! - Bren - 28-05-2020 Morning, Thursdays my shopping day as well JJB had a walk over to Aldi with my trolley only 3 in front of me in the queue I’m under the gazebo just now washing’s out, chard and nasturtiums planted out so it’s time to read at bit. RE: Good Morning, Afternoon, Evening, Night! - Veggie - 28-05-2020 Mornafternoon. Just planted out more random peas and they really are random. I sowed all the old packets that had a few seeds in, just to see if they were still viable. Most were . the question will be - do I save the seeds from the solitary "Lancashire Lad" and the 2 "Purple flowered Russians" or should I eat them (assuming they produce summat).? What a dilemma!! Better have a coffee while I ponder. So hot today, I'm glad to be indoors anyway. RE: Good Morning, Afternoon, Evening, Night! - Jay - 28-05-2020 Afternoon all, another beautiful day!!! Only delayed half an hour at the hospital this morning, it was an hour and a half yesterday! Not really complaining though, they are keeping me alive!! Hope everyone is enjoying the sunshine, I’m off to have lunch in the garden so see you all later! x RE: Good Morning, Afternoon, Evening, Night! - PyreneesPlot - 28-05-2020 Afternoon all! Back inside after a couple of hours just pottering with twine & secateurs in hand, which means I've reclaimed one of the paths at the side of the house! MrPP has demonstrated just how acclimatised he is by saying, "Doesn't feel too hot today." 30 degrees in the shade which was why I was mostly working on the shady side RE: Good Morning, Afternoon, Evening, Night! - Vinny - 28-05-2020 Back again. Having been to the plot I actually managed to get everything on my list completed for once. The greenhouse was so hot after planting and tying up the canes for each tomato plant I had to keep stepping outside to cool down. 10 tomatoes planted and caned down one side of the greenhouse. 28 leeks planted 3 courgettes planted out with a pane of perspex set in the ground to the windward side of each. Last year they got battered with the wind so this should help. 6 Bruusel sprouts planted in compacted soil (damp underneath) Lots of hand weeding throwing a mixture of weeds and cardboard into my runner bean trenches. Once I cut my grass at home the cuttings can go in the trenches and all covered over with soil. The runner beans are going berserk indoors and are desperate to be planted ou, even trying to escape through the roof vent!!! |
