Cabbage - pointu coeur de boeuf - not a whole one but enough good outer leaves from a couple of plants to feed two of us.
Although sown at roughly the same time, last year the first one was finally big enough to pick something from in late August Angry , so this year is already an improvement!!

My cornflowers are about an inch tall. They clearly have a bit of catching up to do!
Harvested my first couple of cauliflowers today. Needed 2 to feed the five of us for dinner today. They were from the polytunnel and it is a bit too hot and dry for them in there lately so they haven't reached the size they should but were still worth growing. They weren't that much smaller than some I saw in Sainsburys yesterday. I gave my daughter 2 to take away with her for helping with the strawberry cage and planting the dahlias.
Sweet peas. Only half a dozen stems but even that gives a beautiful waft of fragrance.
MT a green one so must be Bijou.
Two days on the trot for a few wild strawberries, gosh they are delicious!

Also roses for a little vase for my office Smile
My first strawberry - although it looks a bit wizened and in need of a good drink. I didn't actually pick it - didn't want to spoil the pleasure of eating the first strawberry of 2023 by eating a shrivelled one.
