Quote 'all that lovely sunshine going to waste". P with his electronics background established the wiring was at fault but probably not a panel failure. Finding someone to investigate was difficult, then getting safe access to the roof another. Scaffolders here today and solar bod here tomorrow.  Unfortunately tomorrow is forecast rain all day.

Solar man cancelled due  to weather, may be here tomorrow but as yet no confirmation.  My happy was that I got a routine dentist check up, wonders will never cease.
I found some very old Travellers Cheques and US dollars in the back of the cupboard recently. I knew they were there really but had been too lazy to work out where to cash them in. Today was the day to go to the bank and find out. I drove over to bank, parked in the car park, collected a few free items locally then went into the bank.
Ahead of me, being seen by the cashier, was someone who looked familiar from the back but banks aren't the sort of place where you try to attract attention so I waited until he had finished. As  he turned around my suspicions were confirmed - it was my brother. Big Grin We walked back to the car park together and he had parked 2 cars away from mine! What are the odds of this? I haven't been to the bank in person since before Covid!
Back to the travellers cheques  - the cashier said that nobody used TCs these days and she couldn't accept them but she gave me a phone number to contact. As for the US dollars (about $160) she said she could accept them but, she whispered, I'd get better rates at the supermarket/Post Office. So I gathered up my money and left with my brother.
The good news is - I found that you can cash in TCs on the American Express website so that is in hand now. May have some money to spend on seeds soon.  Wink
I’ve just moved some posts and I didn’t screw it up  Blush .
A couple of things:-
I was offered some free toiletries and the collection address was one of the streets that I walked along every school day between the age of 4 to 11. It had the same paving slabs that I remember, with channels running from the garden wall to the gutter to take the rainwater away from the house. At regular intervals one of the slabs would have "EL" carved into it. As kids we decided it meant "Elephant Legs" and our game was to run along the pavement without stepping on the cracks and jumping over any slab with EL on it. If you landed on EL you would grow up with Elephant Legs. It was obvously right as my legs are more elephant than giraffe!
Happy memories of those carefree school days. Smile

Going for a dental checkup and no work needed. Haven't needed any dental work since before Covid - and I can't remember whether anything was done then. I always have this overwhelming urge to jump up and down when the dentist says All OK but I usually manage to control myself until I reach reception, then I have a little skip! Fortunately, there was nobody in the waiting room today.

The image of a moneyless chicken cavorting in any waiting room conjures up an image I'd rather forget  Big Grin
Got to have a little walk on a beach while waiting for Bob to finish mowing.

My last visit to one of the Brown Trout reservoirs I fish before season ends at end of September. Walked and fished all the way around the reservoir and netted two large brownies for my troubles. One was tail walking like flipper and the other was like a submarie that didn't want to surface. Rolleyes

Weather forecast was for sunshine, though most of the 4 hours I spent there it was either raining or blowing a hooligan.Memorable and enjoyable day for me being the only one at the reservoir fishing, even though  my ankles are sore from walking the dam walls. Big Grin
First day of jury service done. Another 2 or 3 to go. Not a pleasant experience, TMI.
