Sowed some Cinnabar tagetes which I scrounged from a friend.
These are very similar to “Burning Embers” but taller.
Smashing for cutting.
Sowed some of Scarlet’s saponaria from the seed swap. Been wanting to try this for a number of years and not got round to buying any.
Zinnia F1 dwarf mix
Zinnia Envy (green ones)
Calendula Nova
Lavatera Pastel mix
Clarkia Crown Double mix
Tagetes Linnaeus
Tagetes Strawberry Blonde
Borage
Cosmos Purity (saved seed)
Runner Bean Jackpot mix - these are self pollinating dwarf runners and I really liked them last year, they look pretty with all the different flower colours, grew quickly and I was harvesting earlier than the dwarf french beans sown at the same time.
Love your choice of flower sowings, though I’ve never grown clarkia.
Is it good for cut flowers?

I haven't tried them as cut flowers, I only grow them to feed the tortoise Smile

I hope so . It’s the only reason I’m growing it this year. And every seed company trying to sell it says it’s good for cutting.  Smile
Love the sound of the runner beans Garret, I wonder if they do better in the heat than traditional climbing runners which rarely set beans for me?

Yesterday broadcast the rest of the random seed mix over the other half of the bank. We have a few days of rain so fingers crossed something will germinate and get some roots down!
2 x courgette de Nice Rond
4 x winter squash Thelma Sanders
3 x summer squash Rugosa Friulana
2 x Potimarron pumpkin
1 x Jack Be Little mini pumpkin
3 x Tromboncino

I put some in the propagator to chit yesterday afternoon and these had already sprouted when I checked this morning.
How do you do it, Garrett? I need help please Wink

I use a sheet of kitchen roll.
Put the seeds on the sheet.
Fold the sheet three or four times (add a plant label).
Moisten the sheet.
Put inside a sandwich bag (or any plastic container).
Put inside a heated propagator (or somewhere warm).
Check every day as they can germinate overnight.
Once the seed has germinated, carefully plant it in compost.

It's well worth trying, particularly with larger seeds.
Thanks Garrett. Big Grin
I've tried several times but ended up with rotted seeds - haven't put them in the propagator though. Will try this next.
