Can you section off some of it and try drain it by putting in some pipes and a stone sink ?

My neighbours have done that and they grow potatoes in the soft peaty soil.
I live on the bog but my land has all been raised out of the bog by stones so over the years I have had to buy top soil and compost etc. To build up a decent level of soil for growing in.

We’ve already dug a burn (stream) across the plot . A pond isn’t going to add anything  Smile

500m of drainage going in and back filled with stone.
ok, so the drainage should be sorted then, so it will be less wet. What's the soil like? Is it clay?

Peat.
How lucky Smile Sand is probably good for drainage. Other than that, I'm guessing it depends on how alkaline or acidic the soil is, whichever you want it to move.
Off the scale acidic  Big Grin
Drainage, then lots of straw/hay mixed followed by lime
Yes, lime then, definitely, and lots of it! Smile
Just a quick photo so you can see what I’m trying to drain & improve.
