I have been told that as some people get old they start to make mistakes when they are reading, so I am not surprised at your mistake JJB, the word was odd, o d d not o l d I suppose an easy mistake for the elderly to make and please don't think I am offended by it either, and don't get upset because I had to give up time to explain this to you, I don't mind helping the elderlySmile

For some reason this reminded me of my granny, and she would be very old if she was still alive. One of her sayings was "Everyone's queer 'cept you and me - and even thar's a little queer." Does sound the saame generation.
So Mark, your granny was of the same generation as Veggie Big Grin
"Nowt as queer as folk" was my Gran's mantra! Smile 'Gay' was deemed to be very happy then as well! Rolleyes
^^^ followed by 'except thee and me, and even thee's got tha funny little ways' all in a northern accent which was a bit strange as she was Wiltshire born and bred. Big Grin

I used to make the oils clothes and carpeting. Never really caught the bug though, it can be all encompassing especially if you specialise in a particular era and are a stickler for accuracy. Mum concentrated on 1850.

So you're not that strange Bren.
Thanks JJB I've waited years to see it writing that I'm not strange  Big Grin
Wonder if I ought to frame it.
It's a good hobby it has something for both collectors and  makers.
I have a friend who makes model railway stations...not with trains but just the station. He hunts high and low for old pictures. He loves recreating the old tearooms they used to have....sad bugger really Big Grin

I suppose I kinda do that too, but virtually. I have played Sims games for as long as I can remember, and I love nothing more than building houses in it! I am a gamer so play lots of games, but right now it's Red Dead Redemption that fills my long dark winter evenings. It's set in the Wild West, and the architecture of the houses from that era is absolutely stunning, so I spend a considerable amount of time taking pictures of houses in the game, to then build them in Sims LOL Daft isn't it, but I love that creative process!
^^^ I haven't a clue what all that means but, don't try to explain it. - I'll just accept it. Big Grin
Unfortunately (perhaps) I know just what she's talking about Big Grin never thought I'd see miniaturists and gamers in the same thread !
Maybe I'm the only normal one here? Big Grin
That's a revelation, isn't it? Then again, what's normal Smile
