Is this a flowering currant? which is currently (sic) in full bloom. If so, I want one for my garden as it would cheer me up no end when not much else is flowering.

I think it's Viburnum "Dawn", Vinny.
It looks more like a cherry to me. But I really don’t know.
I'd go with a viburnum of some sort as it's in flower now.
Another Vote for Viburnum.
Flowering currants smell of cats, rub the leaves and they smell of blackcurrants (a bit).
Strangely, I have a viburnum in my garden somewhere so will have to find it and see if it is flowering.
(Wonders, are they hard to take cuttings from?)
Just bought a plant off Amazon as with Prime I get free delivery. Can't be bad at £8.99 delivered. (Wonder whether it will have any flowers on it?)
Ooh, I have one of those - I was wondering what it was
And Googling it just now has also helped me find out that my other shrub that's currently flowering is a winter-flowering honeysuckle, so that's a double win!

I bought a winter flowering honeysuckle last year and I am disappointed that it hasn't flowered this year!
