Done most of above apart from weed potatoes and still some oaks to plant out. Among the ones I planted out, some acorns had produced 2 'trunks' and they separated with 1/2 the acorn each.

so:

Finish off oaks
weed potatoes
weed onions and carrots plus more probably.
try to deter rats from chomping the pea stems
mow a bit

Picture of squash area with sweetcorn at back and quinoa (bit like fat hen to look at) nearer.

And the baby oaks (about 100)

Mark I’m not being critical just curious but why plant so many baby oaks and why so close together?
Coffee keeps me busy until it’s acceptable to drink whiskey.

Well, they were all huddled together in a bread loaf crate and it was either plant them or bin them. If I get a spare 1/2hour next winter/early spring, I can plant them out may be 10' apart, my contribution to the Climate warming up.

As an aside, when I planted out some daliahs last week that were started off in a cardboard box, as I was removing and planting them and got to the middle of the box, a mouse emerged and toddled off. Where it had come from I found a nest with several of my acorns by it. As it didn't move very fast, I assume it was likely pregnant and had been comfy there with a stash of food.
