We used to have a couple in the garden that the kids gave us as a present when young, mainly plaster in material.

When our son discovered air rifles, they were his prime targets....alas they are gnome more

The village where I live had a very small cast concrete cottage industry. It used to make planters and such like and the odd figurine. In CB(citizens band radio) days the handle for the village was Gnome Factory.

My CB handle before the event of mobile phones was 'goldilocks'. Seems like another age away.

Ooooh I love gnomes.

If I exclude the one with his trousers down so his bum lights up in the dark I have -

Gorden, Graham, Grenville, Gervaise, George, Gladstone and Morris (I run out of G’s)

A couple of them even have yellow hats.

Gawain?

RE: Garden Gnomes - Mikey - 23-07-2020

What about Gnomeo he had a blue hat. A gnome is a garden equivalent of light entertainment.

It's Sir Gawain JJB, there were ten knights of the round table whose name began with a G, there were twice as many G's at the table than any other letter, making them perfect names for the gallant Gnome.

Even Guinevere or if you prefer the Welsh Gwynhwyfar, meaning the white enchantress, or gwynhwr the great, as opposed to Gwynhwrfach her sister gwynhwr the lesser or smaller. There are many good and gallant gnome names in the welsh language.

Mikey I fear for your sanity though it's great to see the Welsh names. As a southerner I have no idea how to pronounce them. Do you research all the information you so avidly impart to us or is it off the top of your head from memory. If the latter, I'm impressed.
