Almost all garden gnomes have red hats.
It's just a little gnome fact. Tongue Tongue Tongue

The other Christmas my niece bought me a gnome complete with paints to decorate it, this thread reminded me that its still in its packaging.

I haven't got any garden gnomes, red hats or otherwise. I think I must remedy this.

We've got a garden Buddha about the size of a gnome but he doesn't have a hat. He sometimes helps to keep the door open.

Norman the gnome resides on the patio in front of the summerhouse/chalet thingy. He's plastic and was brought home when my son, aged about three, went shopping with grandma and had a humungous hissy fit until he was purchased. Norman does indeed have a red hat, but is due for sartorial redecoration, I might just go against tradition in the hat department. Anyone read the Gnome books by Wil Huygen?

I used to live near the Gnome Factory and, as a kid, you can imagine what I thought they made there. Really disappointed when I found out it was Slide Projectors. Smile

A long time ago someone bought us a plastic box supposedly to keep a spare house key hidden. It had a fairy lying prostrate over the box with flowers as I remember and it too was to be painted. It suffered the same fate as yours Bren, in a box somewhere in the house. Rolleyes
