I'd forgotten about pancake day, today we're having carrot, ginger and courgette soup with SC's garlic pita bites for lunch then this evening hot dogs, green salad and mixed pickles.
I can highly recommend the garlic pita. I’ll definitely be doing them again.

I'll be doing those again  very tasty Smile   Also are handy for using those pita breads that get a bit bashed around.

Here's a link to the soup.

Bookmarked that. Thanks Bren.

Of course it’s worth it! In fact I’d go as far to say P can cook his own tea, if he’s going to be a miserable old .............  Wink

I made a big bowl of pancake mix for to use at tea time.
I then got to thinking "I am never going to eat all those pancakes" so we have just had potato fritters along with poor mans Spam fritters (Pork luncheon meat......... have you seen the price of Spam!) Rolleyes

Still enough batter left for pancakes for tea. Big Grin

I totally understand the sentiment but in fairness, I do need to lose a little, which won't happen without serious encouragement.  Smile

No pancakes for us tonight - Mr E is doing his usual Tuesday night Zoom call with his running group, so I'll be having vegan pizza and wine, as per Big Grin

Lent this year just happened to line up with my urge to get back on the healthy eating bandwagon, so from tomorrow it'll be all homemade vegetable soup and mahoosive salads - good thing I like both!

Not sure what to call tonights tea

Shepherds pie of sorts, onion, chicken and mushrooms with a mash topping

Just discovered beef olives again, it’s been a while. Do you get them in England? Cooking them in onion gravy served with mash and veg.
Was going to make pancakes but I don’t have much milk and grocery delivery is not until Thursday!

Jay I’d not heard of beef olives before, found recipes on line so was wondering what do you fill yours with?

We used to get them with School meals sometimes with cocktail sticks holding them together.. Cool

I loved them and from what I can remember they had stuffing in the middle. Gawd knows where the name came from as I don't recall any olives being involved. Huh

Simple comfort dinner this evening buttery mash potato, chicken Kiev and baked beans. To be followed later on by a stack of crepes with lime juice and a dash of sugar.
